Formerly known by its old name, Southern Association of Orthodontists, the West Virgina Orthodontic Association is more than just a group. It is an institution which boasts of its formidable contribution and participation in orthodontics. Let`s learn more from this organization.

History

Founded in 1921, the West Virginia Orthodontic Association ranks as second from among the regional groups in terms of membership. However, it was only in 1990 that it was incorporated with the states of Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Louisiana and Tennessee among others as geographical constituents.

Headquarters and Operations

Stationed at Atlanta City, it boasts of having its own office and a full-time staff. The 2,000 square feet office condominium is very accessible since it is situated in the heart of the city and surrounded by hotels.

The members meet annually and discuss about related issues and how to address them. It is headed by the President whom the members vote. The members are kept updated through e-news and the like. Talk about what a real organization should be!

Vision and Mission

The West Virginia Orthodontic Association is composed of the best orthodontists in this part of the country. They strive to work hard for people`s awareness of their profession by being a catalyst of change. They continue to innovate and come up with technologies that will create a positive impact on the lives of people.

Moreover, they are empowered by their desires to bring about maximum contribution in the field of dentistry. Over the years, the organization has been very active and vigilant in so far as dental education is concerned.

Outreach Programs

Apart from the individual programs conducted by the members, the organization is also actively involved in the community. In the field of education, the organization usually sends a member to conduct free seminar and talks related to orthodontics.

Likewise, they also conduct free and voluntary services to depressed areas. Usually doctor members offer their services for free as well as they conduct forum and symposia on proper dental care.

The West Virginia Orthodontic Association has been around for more than eighty years. Unlike any organization, it has weathered the challenges of time and continues to work for the betterment of this specific field.
