Trying to find the best mouth guard to stop grinding your teeth at night can be a challenge since there are tons of mouth guards online, but not many for teeth grinding.  Most of them are for sports players and will not be suitable for the bruxism that you are experiencing.   Here are some simple steps to take in buying the best guards online.

1.  Try to stay away from large and bulky mouth guards.  While you may think this will offer your teeth the best protection it will be uncomfortable and make it almost impossible to fall asleep at night.  That’s the main difference with mouth guards that are especially made for bruxism… they are made to be small and comfy and allow you to sleep effortlessly in them.

2.  Find a flexible  mouth guard.  By flexible I mean get a guard that can be remolded into another shape after a while.  Over time  your grinding will cause it to lose some of it’s shape and you will need to remold it back where you need it.

3.  When you are reviewing different mouth guards make sure you think about being able to breathe easily as well.  Having this proper ventilation makes it much easier to sleep without depriving your body of oxygen and feeling like you are gasping all the time.

4. Consider that you want a well made mouth guard because the process of teeth grinding can really wear it away. Even a quality mouth guard could be of no use in 5 years because of Bruxism.

One of the best things you can do to help your teeth grinding is to get a custom made mouth guard.  If you go to the dentist you can expect to pay at least $500.00 for a custom mouth guard, but I have found a website that will allow you to get your own custom guard for only about $100 and you can have a kit shipped to your house which will help you make a mouth impression of your teeth.  A few days later your mouth guard will be shipped to you.  This company can save you hundreds of dollars and these are quality mouth guards too.  Check it out at the link below.
