The Case for Electric versus Manual Toothbrush
There are times when we are caught between choosing one thing over the other. Our toothbrushes do not spare us from that predicament too. Will you go electric or manual?
We all know that each one has its own benefit. However, it all boils down to your specific needs. What kind of lifestyle do you have? What kind of oral hygiene do you need? Find out and decide for yourself.
Effectiveness
Although both toothbrushes are able to clean the teeth and the gums, an electric toothbrush can do it more effectively. You do not need to exert more effort and look for places where food particles are hidden.
On the other hand, a manual toothbrush is highly technique sensitive. To be able to get the results you wanted you must be able to brush at the right directions and must exert the needed force in teeth cleaning. These are things your electric toothbrush can do for you.
Features
An electric toothbrush is loaded with all the latest technology in dental and oral healthcare. It comes with features that make teeth cleaning as easy as ABC. Most have timers which signal you to stop brushing. In fact, others come with alarms every thirty seconds prompting you to change focus areas of your teeth that need cleaning.
On the contrary, a manual toothbrush does not have any of these intricate features. However, that does not mean that it is less effective. Once you have mastered the skill of using your manual toothbrush effectively, the same can yield results similar to an electric toothbrush.
Cost
We all know that an electric toothbrush is much more expensive than a manual toothbrush. Of course, you have to pay for the convenience, technology and effectiveness that it brings with it. However, since they last longer than manual toothbrushes, a one-time investment will do you good.
Cheap and readily available, manual toothbrushes can be replaced anytime. It can be discarded as often as you want and they are very convenient especially when travelling because it only requires a very minimal space.
Will you go electric or manual? Let all these information help you in your decision.
