If you are looking for personal dental insurance it is probably because you simply cannot get it from your employer. Because of the high cost of dental insurance many employers have stopped offering it as a benefit and the employees are left to fend for themselves.

You can actually get a dental plan in addition to your existing dental insurance policy if you wanted to, but dental plans work very differently.  The benefits are that you do not need to be in any certain dental health, you can get discounts on things that insurance will not cover, and you can use them as often as you want, without worrying about using up all of your coverage.
